Earlier this year, our team was faced with a big challenge: to replace the FCI magazine with an e-newsletter and we hope that we made it.

Time has come now to write the second edition and we hope that you will enjoy reading us.

In our March 2011 e-newsletter, we have tried to explore different fields, to turn to people active on the show scene asking them their opinion about Junior Handling or the FCI Centenary Winner Show that will take place in Dortmund. We also propose other interesting articles and it is our pleasure to invite you to take a look at them.

Virtual communication has become very important over the last years and the FCI, like many others, jumped into the train of modernism. As you will see, the figures about the visits to our website, and our e-newsletter speak for themselves.

We are very happy to remind you about the existence of our « e-newsletter’s sister », i.e our Face Book page to which more than 15.000 people have already adhered. Please pay us a visit, It will be a big pleasure to see you there.

Time has come now to say goodbye and to wish you an excellent reading.

Cordially,
Y. De Clercq
FCI Executive Director
In Memoriam Carl Johan Adlercreutz

The allround judge Carl-Johan Adlercreutz died on December 11, 2010 at the age of 79. Carl-Johan lived his life in the service of dogs on many levels. Together with his wife he bred Dalmatians. From 1976 to 1980 he was the general secretary of Svenska Kennelklubben. During most of his life, he was active in different breed clubs and he was very much appreciated for his knowledge and engagement. Something special: Carl-Johan held his own dog show called ”Möklinta Royal” which he organized every year, in the heart of the village where he lived. It was an open show but it attracted many of Carl Johan’s friends and judges from all over the world to come. As an allround judge he set an example as a representative for Swedish judges and also renewed the role of a judge with his personality, style and knowledge as a well educated judge. That made him very popular and appreciated wherever he went.

Carl-Johan Adlercreutz was also an author of specialist literature and a debater and wrote about dogs in magazines and books. One of his books “Dogs in the world” (co-work with his son Johan) has been printed in many editions and can be found in many bookshelves of dog lovers in his country and abroad.

His last judging appointment was during Easter in 2010.

Our thoughts go out to his wife and family and to the Svenska Kennelklubben as well.
