Earlier this year, our team was faced with a big challenge: to replace the FCI magazine with an e-newsletter and we hope that we made it.

Time has come now to write the second edition and we hope that you will enjoy reading us.

In our March 2011 e-newsletter, we have tried to explore different fields, to turn to people active on the show scene asking them their opinion about Junior Handling or the FCI Centenary Winner Show that will take place in Dortmund. We also propose other interesting articles and it is our pleasure to invite you to take a look at them.

Virtual communication has become very important over the last years and the FCI, like many others, jumped into the train of modernism. As you will see, the figures about the visits to our website, and our e-newsletter speak for themselves.

We are very happy to remind you about the existence of our « e-newsletter’s sister », i.e our Face Book page to which more than 15.000 people have already adhered. Please pay us a visit, It will be a big pleasure to see you there.

Time has come now to say goodbye and to wish you an excellent reading.

Cordially,
Y. De Clercq

Eukanuba celebrates some of the world's most “Extraordinary Dogs”

Innovative Global Documentary Offers Compelling Look at the Remarkable Nature of ‘Man’s Best Friend’

Eukanuba proudly announces the premiere of Extraordinary Dogs, its 13-episode branded television series that explores the wonderful - and often extraordinary - nature of 'man's best friend' in a factual, entertainment-based format created for every member of the family.

The Extraordinary Dogs TV series is sponsored by Eukanuba and produced by Award-winning programmer Back2Back Productions on behalf of London-based A Brand Apart Television.

Developed by dog people for dog people, the weekly, 30-minute episodes are airing in more than 130 countries, showcasing the extraordinary capabilities of dogs and the science behind them. Leading vets, rescue workers and specialist trainers provide a unique insight into the remarkable nature of Labrador Retrievers, Newfoundlanders, Staffordshire Bull Terriers and many other breeds.

In February 2011 the first episode of Extraordinary Dogs debuted in UK on Channel 5 and was a real success, with a reach of over 1 Million viewers, as well as strong engagement on blogs, forums and from national newspapers. On March 16th Animal Planet will begin airing the Extraordinary Dogs TV series in the in Netherlands, Belgium, and in the majority of CEEMEA Countries. It will also air in Italy from May 1st; German viewers will be able to watch it on VOX as of 30th April.

To find out when and on what channel it will be available in your Country, ask your local Specialty Store! And don’t worry if you miss an episode: as soon as the series airs in your Country, you will also be able to watch it by linking to www.extraordinarydogs.tv.

“I decided to share my story in the Extraordinary Dogs TV series because of how my Poppy has changed my life bringing back my freedom. I have been suffering from diabetes since I was a child and only Poppy could change my life alerting me whenever my level of glucose is dropping over a normal range so that I do not go unconscious anymore,” said Philippa Copleston-Warren, featured in the 6th episode, together with her life saving Yorkshire Terrier Poppy. “Through the Extraordinary Dogs series, I wanted to start rising awareness of what gifts dogs have, but even more I wanted to let people with similar or rarer problems, know there perhaps is a solution for them.”

Do you have a website, a blog or just a Facebook page? Be inspired by Philippa and share these extraordinary dog stories with your friends. Perhaps one day you can have the chance to improve someone’s life too!
